Roknodin Javadi noted the possible transfer of Iranian oil to the American oil company called Chevron South Africa Private Limited during the post sanction period adding “on the basis of the Iranian government’s policies, there exists no ban on the sale of crude oil to US refineries in the African country.”
Iran’s deputy oil minister rejected the existence of legal restrictions or prohibitions on selling oil to American oil refineries in South Africa or other countries; “Iran is ready to sell oil to all world countries except for the Zionist regime,” he asserted.
Managing director of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) referred to the holding of talks with all traditional costumers of Iranian crude in Europe, Asia and Africa adding “a total of 500 barrels will be added to the country’s daily oil production once the international sanctions are lifted.”
Javadi stressed that the talks and marketing procedures have been carried out leaving no concerns over selling the increased production; “moreover, all facilities for transport, storage and export of crude oil are fully prepared in operating companies and oil terminals.”
“Iran’s oil will be shipped to the market as soon as the sanctions are lifted,” reminded the official emphasizing “the countries plan to increase oil during post sanction era won’t stop despite the sharp decline in oil prices in the world market.”
“During the post sanction period, 60 per cent of the increased oil production will be exported to Asian markets while the rest will be offered to the markets in Africa and Europe,” Javadi had stated earlier.
The new round of talks between Iran and South Africa were held in Tehran several weeks earlier and it was decided that the Iranian oil ministry, South Africa’s ministry of minerals and energy and US Chevron officials should negotiation the resumption of oil sales.
