Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani who was addressing Judiciary high-ranking officials on Monday morning, said that the idea was ill-conceived and was unconstitutional; “some individuals and circles work to publicize their wishes with hidden motives which are at the most part unconstitutional; Assembly’s supervision over the Leader is an inaccurate reading of the Constitution’s Articles 107-111, which only describe the Leader’s traits and characteristics in the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to these articles, the Assembly of Experts would only ‘identify’ the individual whose these features are the most outstanding, and the issue of supervision would not necessarily be along with this identification duty,” he told the meeting, calling all media outlets to avoid making such speculations and unconstitutional claims to wisely prevent the contaminating the healthy environment with only few months to the elections.
Amoli Larijani then turned to the importance of the public participation and their role in the stability and sovereignty of the country; “the Islamic Republic of Iran is the most secure and strongest country in the region. West fears this very strength and they had made claims as to Iran’s human rights record which are totally unrealistic. They have been seeking to impose on us their own version of human rights, which is unacceptable for us; we recognize only the human rights which come from Islamic teachings, where man and woman are entitled to equal rights; blacks and whites enjoy the same status and human dignity,” he emphasized.
Ayatollah Amoli Larijani urged high turnout in the upcoming Parliament and Assembly of Experts elections; “all bodies and players should act according to their duties asserted clearly in the law; and all should accept and welcome addressing the election issues which complies with the frameworks set by the Constitution,” he suggested.
