TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) – Using nanotechnology, Iranian Basparsazan Company succeeded in the industrial production of polymeric floor coverings with modified properties under the trademark of Basapolymer, INIC reports.

According to Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC), the floor coverings have been presented to the costumers with unique antibacterial, anti-static and anti-abrasion properties.

Epoxy polymeric floor coverings have been used in various industries such as plants, workshops and industrial centers for a long time. However, their application has sometimes led to dissatisfaction due to the inappropriate proportion of application properties with the requirements of the industry. For instance, low abrasion resistance increases the cost of maintenance or in specific applications, the equipment may be seriously damaged due to the sparkle caused by static discharge, and it sometimes leads to fire.

These problems can be almost overcome by using nano additives to the coatings. In addition, positive properties such as resistance to pollution and pathogenic agents can be obtained by using the nanostructures.

In addition to unique applicable properties, the products used in industrial sections, including plants to produce foodstuff and medical and cosmetics as well as centers that provide hygienic services such as hospitals, are required to obey hygiene and safety regulations. Although the regulations differ depending on the type of the place, the common face of all regulations is the application of floor coverings without any crack and with non-sorbent, high abrasion resistance and antibacterial properties. All products produced by Basapolymer Company enjoy the abovementioned characteristics.

The company has succeeded in the acquirement of Nano Scale Certificate from the INIC. In addition, the antibacterial epoxy floor coverings have acquired Antibacterial Certificate from Pasteur Institute, and Non-toxicity and Non-irritation of Skin Certificate from Shahid Beheshti University.
