It was expected the so called international coalition against ISIL to take serious measures and block the flow of finance and arms support to the terrorists, said Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Europe and America Majid Takht Ravanchi in meeting with his visiting Norwegian counterpart Tore Hattrem in Tehran on Wednesday.
Greeting Takht Ravanchi for the success of Iran in talks with 5+1, the State Secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs voiced hope for expansion of bilateral ties in post-sanctions era.
Norway is determined to re-establish and develop economic cooperation with Iran, in addition to exchange of technology and investment in Iran’s huge market, the Norwegian diplomat reassured as he is heading a politico-economic delegation to Tehran.
He also offered his condolences over the tragic death of thousands of Hajj pilgrims in Mina tragedy of September 24.
Regional developments and the implementation of JCPOA were among other areas of discussion between the two officials.
Takht Ravanchi highlighted the long range prospects for economic cooperation observed in the Vienna agreement of July 14 and added that the considerations guarantee the depth of bilateral ties.
Referring to the regional developments, the Iranian diplomat elaborated on Iran’s solutions for the crises in the region with focus on diplomacy and dismissal of violence.
The humanitarian tragedy in Yemen is in a critical status and the civilian people of the war-torn country are in dire need of help, said Takht Ravanchi pointing to daily bombardment of residential areas in Yemen by Saudi fighters.
Touching upon the catastrophic death of thousands of Hajj pilgrims in Mina incident, he demanded Saudi regime’s responsibility for the occurrence of the event and added that Islamic countries are determined to practice a mechanism to prevent the recurrence of the similar events in future.
The two sides also stressed on the importance of cooperation and conferring in helping Afghan government stabilize security in the poor country.
