Iranian Sportswriters, Photographers Honored

Sponsored by the country’s Sports Basij and Mehr News Agency, the ceremony aimed to honor those who are actively working in sports sector.

Delivering speech, Brigadier General Mashyekhi who is in charge of Basij sports offered a report on Basij athletic activities and a poll for holding the ceremony.

Head of Iran’s Volleyball Federation, Mohammadreza Yazdani-Khorram, President of Taekwondo Federation, Seyed Mohammad Pouladgar, and Chairman of Iran’s Sportswriters and Photographers Association, Abdolmajid Ahmadi pointed to the role of reporters and photographers in sports.

The following 18 reporters and photographers were rewarded:

2. Gholamhossein Sha’bani: Editor-in-Chief of Donya-ye Varzesh Sports Magazine
3. Hossein Zokaei: Editor-in-Chief of IRIB Sports News
4. Majid Nadiri: Radio Sports Group Manager
5. Massoud Oskouei: Radio Sportscaster
6. Ja’far Mohtashamipour: Sportswriter of Kayhan Sports Daily
7. Hassan Alirezaei: Sports News Editor-in-Chief of Central News Bureau
8. Ali Kaveh: Sports Photographer
9. Fereydoun Moussavi: Sports Editor of Kayhan Daily
10. Mojtaba Kompani: Sports Editor of Jomhouri-e Eslami Daily
11. Jamshid Hamidi: Sportswriter of Donya-ye Varzesh Sports Magazine

August 8, the anniversary martyrdom of IRNA reporter Mahmoud Saremi in Afghanistan, marks the “Journalists Day” in Iran.
