Iran, Pan American wrestling council sign MoU

TEHRAN, Sep. 07 (MNA) – On the edge of the Wrestling World Championships in Las Vegas, an MoU was signed between Pan American Wrestling Council and the Wrestling Federation of Iran.

Attending the session, the president of United World Wrestling Nenad Lalovic expressed satisfaction about good relations between Iran’s Wrestling Federation and the Pan American Wrestling Council stating that, “Iran has always supported the development of wrestling all around the world like its previous backing of wrestling in Africa.”

There exist various sections in this MoU which include donating mattresses to Latin American countries, holding training camps with the applicant countries under special conditions in Tehran as well as sending Iranian freestyle and Greco-Roman couches to hold training courses in Latin American countries among the others.

The memorandum of understanding was signed between President of Iran's Wrestling Federation Rasoul Khadem and the head of the Pan American Wrestling Council Francisco Eduardo Lee Lopez.

Lopez invited Iran's wrestling team to attend American Continent wrestling championship competition in Chile.

Khadem also met with President of the US Wrestling Federation Jim Ravannack.
