"Today, in the atmosphere of threats and sanctions, we have still managed to score the safest and most secure airspace in the Middle East according to the International Civil Aviation Organization," said Commandar of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base.
Congratulating the National Week of Iran and the eighth anniversary of the establishment of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base, Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said today that, “our experience during the 8 years of imposed war showed that the country’s air defense needs to be agile.”
“Based on the experiences of the wars in Iraq, Syria, and the region we know that major threats and aggregations have been through the air and long-range missiles which means the defense line is not limited to geographical boundaries,” Esmaili added.
Pointing to the existence of extra-regional bases around the country, he said that, “Iran’s Air Defense Base has built 3700 defense lines in different parts of the country in order to confront enemies.” Esmaeili dubbed it as a message of peace and security to friend countries as well as message of warning and defense against possible threats from regional countries.
Noting that with regard to airspace security Iran has blocked the enemies’ desires to intrude the country's airspace, the official asserted that, “due to the safety of commercial flights, more than 1200 passenger aircrafts fly over the country every day.”
Pointing to the scientific and equipment independence as one of the achievements of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base, he stated that, “with the help of the country’s youth and intellectuals we have been able to produce and deploy strategic radars, missiles, and fully integrated command and control systems which are completely home-made.”
Amir Farzad Esmaili concluded that, “enemies need to know that we will confront any threats by our power which has emanated from the blood of our martyrs as well as the brilliant leadership of the Leader.”
