Commenting on the benefits of his attendance in the Annecy International Animation Film Festival (AIAFF) with his short animation Stripy, the Iranian animator Babak Nekooei appreciated the occasion as his first international appearance out of Iran after the Diploma of honor he acquired in Tehran Animation Festival (TAF).
Babak Nekooei who directed his 4-minute-long short along with his brother Behnoud Nekooei pointed that his short was one of the 16 short animations that were found appropriate to be shown to adolescents in the AIAFF.
Economy, Culture, and education are the three elements of concern for the AIAFF and his work Stripy was valued in the festival for its educational merits.
He also broke the news that Stripy is going to vie in Anima Mundi -the International Animation Festival of Brazil- which will kick off on July 10 in Rio de Janeiro and after that in festivals in Poland, India, England, and Slovakia.
Pointing to the influence of the Hungarian Dance No 5 by the German composer Johannes Brahms on his work, Nekooei recounted the plot of the work as a worker is forced to follow the daily routines in a factory and one day he decides to revolt and swim against the stream.
