Norway optimistic about nuclear deal

TEHRAN, Jun. 09 (MNA) – Norwegian ambassador has told Mehr News she is highly optimistic on the possibility of Iran and 5+1 hitting a final nuclear deal.

Aud Lise Norheim told Mehr News on Monday it was possible that the final deal would be delayed, if both sides falter in showing commitment to the deadline designated. “I am optimistic that the first of July will be the day of final deal in nuclear negotiations,” she told Mehr News International Service.

Iran and 5+1 have agreed on first of July as the deadline they are supposed to hammer out a final deal based on guidelines agreed upon in Lausanne in April 4th. Both sides have not ruled out a possible extension to the deadline.

Mrs. Norheim highlighted the importance of the nuclear deal, believing that all parties engaged should work hard to bring about a deal, since “it would be of a very positive impact for both Iran and international community.”

On possible opening of economic and trade relations between Iran and the EU in general and Norway in particular in case of a major sanctions relief, Madame d’ambassade told Mehr News that the sanctions relief would drastically ease trade with the world for Iran and the country would improve the stalled trade with the world especially Norway; “Norwegian companies are interested in Iran’s market of 78 million; and the relief would provide the opportunity to seize the giant market of young consumers,” she said.

On question of current oil prices in global markets, Norheim believed that the oil prices were low which equally upset Iranian and Norwegian economies; she avoided making position about the proper oil prices and said that “Norway is reviewing its economic grand plan (to adjust to reduced oil prices); I think Iranian and Norwegian companies would be highly interested in cooperation in oil and gas, and refinery industries, since Norway enjoys richer experience in these industries,” she said.
