The concert as planned by Cologne Philharmonic Hall, one of the most prestigious international music halls, features two Iranain bands ‘Hamavayan’ and ‘Zarbahang’ to perform for the audience interested in Persian classical music.
The bands comprise Hossein Alizadeh, Alireza Ghorbani, Siamak Jahangiri and Saba Alizadeh. This is the first joint performance of Hossein Alizadeh as composer and Alireza Ghorbani as singer.
Given the significance of Cologne Philharmonic Hall, this concert can mark one of the most important international events for Iran’s music scene.
Cologne Philharmonic Hall founded in the city that is famous throughout the world for its University of Music and its musical and instrumental teaching has been the stage for many great performances by world famous musicians.
Other prominent Iranian musicians such as Mohammadreza Shajarian and Shahram Nazeri have also been invited to perform at Cologne Philharmonic Hall.
‘Hamavayan’ and ‘Zarbahang’ performance is not only limited to the Cologne Philharmonic Hall. The bands will start their European tour after their concert in Germany.
Born in 1951, Hossein Alizadeh studied Composition and Musicology at Berlin University and has taught at the University of Tehran and Tehran Music Conservatory.
Alizadeh is considered as one of the most important figures in contemporary Persian music, exemplifying excellence in traditional Persian music today.
The prominent composer Alizadeh has presented a repertoire of his compositions at several international music events and was nominated three times for the Grammy Award.
In November 2014, he was awarded France’s high distinction in art, Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, which he refused to accept.
Alireza Ghorbani, born in 1973, is a traditional vocalist who has already taken part in many important festivals across the world. Recently, he performed in Düsseldorf, Germany with Düsseldorf Young Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also won the Sufi award at Pakistan’s International Mystic Music Sufi Festival 2014.
