Araghchi: Negotiations positive and strict

TEHRAN, Feb. 21 (MNA) – The senior member of Iran’ negotiating team described the talks as positive and strict and said they have been looking for changes and innovations in negotiations to speed up the process.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, after holding two rounds of talks with 5+1 in Geneva on Friday, stated that the talks have now reached a level to discuss the details and our goal is to discuss the details in all subjects and steps. “This causes the negotiations to be really long and intense,” he added.

Describing the first day of talks as 'positive and strict,' Araghchi asserted “this, however, does not mean that we have made great progresses but the details are under consideration closely and densely.”

“We are looking for innovation and changes in the form and process of the talks to accelerate the procedure,” he said.

This round of talks was held in the deputy foreign ministerial level between Iran and the US with Helga Schmidt, a deputy to the European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini also attending the session.

Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and US Secretary of State John Kerry will join negotiating teams in Geneva on Sunday to continue negotiations.
