Iran ready to negotiate explicitly with S Arabia: Shamkhani

TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (MNA) – Iran’s secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, while explaining the normative policy of Iran towards Saudi Arabia, stressed that Iran is ready to talk explicitly on the concerning issues of Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Hussein Sadeghi, Iran Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, visited Ali Shamkhani this morning and the two discussed the latest issues of Iran-Saudi Arabia relations and also the regional crisis.

Shamkhani, while clarifying the principled policies of Iran in regard to Saudi Arabia and noting some obstacles of their relation and cooperation, emphasized that Iran is ready to hold and continue clear and serious negotiations over issues.

The official, noting the unprecedented economic and humanitarian loss of religious and sectarian conflicts in Islamic world, stressed the role of Islamic countries in preventing such crisis and countering the problem seriously and fundamentally.

The ambassador, meanwhile, highlighted the necessity of considering the grounds of cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia and the positive results of extending cooperation.

Sadeghi also pointed the role of cooperation in restoring stability and security in Islamic World and said “countering terrorism and Islamophobia, and preventing the dismantling of Muslim resources all depends on increase of solidarity and joint action among Islamic countries.”
