Iran to raise trade relations with Pakistan

ZAHEDAN, Dec. 03 (MNA) – General director of Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce has announced rise in trade relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan.

Seyyed Mojtaba Mousavian visited Mirjaveh customs and border terminal in the north of Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province Tuesday morning.

Meeting with business executives in Zahedan, he said that a joint session exploring the strategies for increasing trade exchange and removing trade barriers between the two countries would be held in Tehran in upcoming days.

Seyyed Mojtaba Moussavian announced that his visit to the Province aimed at assessing barriers to trade relations with Pakistan and removal of the obstacles the traders, merchants and cross-border markets faced.

Mousavian said that 40% of exports in Sistan and Baluchestan were through cross-border markets, adding that the statistics showed the important role of cross-border markets in the development of trade.

Stressing that Iran has several neighbors and significant consumer markets, Mousavian noted that Sistan and Balouchestan Province should have a plan to promote investment and strengthen supervision on trade sector.
