According to IRNA, Executive Secretary of the General Assembly of the International Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage announced that 30 countries have planned to attend the first women’s summit in the festival.
In an interview on Sunday, Mohammad Hossein Mirzai stated that “Issuing visas for the participants is underway in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”
Mirzai added that Iranian prominent women would be introduced and picked various organizations from across the country to attend the summit. "Two women from each of 31 provinces will represent Iran. so far, representatives of 20 provinces have been selected."
He described the event as a great opportunity to introduce the abilities and skills of Iranian women to the world. “On the sidelines of this festival, the achievements and capabilities of Iranian women will be exhibited," stated Hossein Mirzai.
He stated that the exhibition is aimed at reviving and promoting Iran’s forgotten intangible heritage.
Mirzai pointed to Vice President of Women and Family Affairs Shahindokht Molaverdi as one of speakers to the International Festival of the Intangible Heritage and highlighted that “topics covered in this meeting include women’s pivotal role in revival, preservation and promotion of intangible heritage, as well as role of cultural heritage in preservation of the environment, lifestyle modification, and urban planning.”
ICCN is the only international organization whose aim is to preserve the world’s intangible cultural heritage. This organization has 40 main members, and three cities of Iran, namely Isfahan, Shiraz and Neishabur, are members to it.
International Festival of the Intangible Heritage will be held from 8 to 12 October in Isfahan.
