6th World Assembly for Islamic Awakening opens in Tehran

TEHRAN, March 10 (MNA) – Esteghlal International Hotel in Tehran has hosted the 6th high secretariat of World Assembly for Islamic Awakening.

Ali Akbar Velayati is the highest Iranian official to attend the meeting. He is also the secretary of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening.

Among the participants is Ibrahim al-Jafari, the head of majority party in Iraqi Parliament, Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah, Ramadan Abdallah, the member of Hamas political office, and some of other dignitaries including Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, Syrian grand mufti, Sheikh Alzain Mohammad Ahmad Lebanese religious leader, Osama Hamdan  head of the Hamas international relations department, other religious officials also attended the meeting.

The head of Ennahda majority fraction in Tunisian Parliament is also invited.

The meeting will hold a 2-day sessions entitled ‘the role of Islam in international power geometry,’ with collaboration of National Defense University. Important issues of Islamic world will be the main items of discussion in the Tuesday and Wednesday sessions.
