Iranian Poetess To Publish Book On Iraqi Imposed War

TEHRAN, June 26 (MNA) -– Iranian Poetess and literary figure Simindukht Vahidi will soon publish a book about her memories of the Iran-Iraq imposed war years.

Vahidi has written various poems on the eight-year-war but she believes that there are still numerous themes that have not been written in any book.

The poetess will publish her collection containing works such as "I Feel the Life …" and "Restless Waves" within a month after they have been edited.

She feels that in literary works written about war, women's roles have been ignored to a great extent. While men played the predominant part in the actual war certainly women also actively participated have earned respect in this regard.

Vahidi said war biography writing should be based on realities and not slogans. In poetry and story writing the same atmosphere should prevail, because the literature of war, as documentation, must be preserved for generations to come.
