Following efforts made by Iran’s Cultural Office in Moscow, the book is a collaborative work by the Russian Philosophy Institute and the Sadra Islamic Theosophy Foundation.
The introduction of the book reads, “The philosophy of Shia is a great phenomenon of which Russians have little knowledge. This school of philosophy which is also named “School of Shiraz” has been founded by the great scholar Sadr ad-din Shirazi who is also the founder of “Transcendent Theosophy” in the philosophy of Islam.”
Sadr ad-din Shirazi, known as Mulla Sadra (1571 B.C., Shiraz, Iran -1640 d., Basra, Iraq), was a philosopher, who led the Iranian cultural renaissance in the 17th century. The foremost representative of the illuminationist, or Ishragi, school of philosophy-mysticism, he is commonly regarded as the greatest Iranian philosopher.
