More than 100 students, alumni, and academics of the university have worked to design and manufacture the Sharifsat satellite, which weighs less than 50 kilograms, Reza Roosta-Azad said.
He said the construction of the Sharifsat satellite has been completed and it is in line to be launched by Iranian Space Agency aboard the domestically made Safir B-1 carrier.
Roosta-Azad added that the satellite’s main task is to take colored images and transmit them to Earth.
