Iran Sunnis protest against desecration of Hujr Bin Adi tomb

SANANDAJ, May 6 (MNA) –Kurd scholars, clergymen, and public in Sunni majority province of west of Iran have protested and condemned the desecration of tomb of Hujr ibn Adi, a companion of the Prophet (PBUH) and religious sanctities of Muslims in Syria.

During the gathering in the shrine of Peir Omar in Sanandaj, scholars, clergymen and the public within the Kurd community protested and denounced the insult and desecration of the holy and sacred shrine of Hujr Ibn Adi, dear companions of the Prophet (PBUH) by the FSA.

In this huge gathering, Kurdistan religious public stressed finding and punishment the perpetrators of this crime against humanity, and called for international community and the great Islam scholars to break their silence over this crime.

In this social gathering during his address, Abdul Karimi, the Kurd Sunni scholar and university professor, said: “Baha'ism and Wahhabism has always been the enemies of Islam and they have attempted to distort Muslims and Islam. There is no difference between Shiites, Sunnis for them, and Islamic sanctities have no place for them.”

“This is not the first time that Wahhabists and Baha'is have waged war against Islamic sanctities, under the name of Islam. Therefore, Muslims of different Islamic sects should stand against these conspiracies, with increased vigilance and vision and do not let them repeat such heinous actions,” he added.

He continued: “Islam forbids the exhumation of body, and strongly condemns this act. But it must be said that the so-called Free Syrian Army, have followed the same anti-Muslim trend of Taliban in Afghanistan. They came to war against Islamic sanctities, with the support of Western countries, Sunnis and Shiites makes no difference to them.”

Hujr ibn Adi was a companion of the Prophet Mohammad and is widely revered by Muslims, particularly Shiites.
