The voting for election of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee chairman was postponed to Wednesday.
Ali Akbar Aqaii was reelected the chairman of the Majlis development committee.
Mas’oud Mirkazemi, the former oil minister, was also elected as the chairman of the Majlis Energy Committee. Mirkazemi also held the post commerce minister in Ahmadinejad’s first administration.
Gholamreza Mesbahi Moqadam was overwhelmingly elected as the chairman of the Majlis Budget and Planning Committee. He won 23 votes out of 26. Mesbahi Moqadam, a cleric trained in economy, held the post in the previous parliament as well.
Hossein Ali Shahryari, an MP from the southeastern city of Zahedan, was also elected as the Health Committee chairman.
Mohammad Ali Rajaii, a veteran lawmaker representing the city of Arak in the parliament, was reelected the chief of the Agriculture Committee.
Former Science Minister Mohammad Mahdi Zahedi, who was elected lawmaker from the city of Kerman also took over as the chairman of the Majlis Education and Research Committee.
