Iranian theater festival honors Turkish, Azeri directors

TEHRAN, Jan. 25 (MNA) -- Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini honored stage directors from Azerbaijan and Turkey on Sunday.

Hosseini attended the dinner banquet for stage artists from ECO member countries who attended the 28th Fajr International Theater Festival.

 

He honored Cennet Selimova (Azerbaijan) and Celal Mordeniz (Turkey) for their recent performances during the 28th Fajr International Theater Festival.

 

The event was attended by several renowned stage artists, including Qotbeddin Sadeqi, Pari Saberi, Hossein Mosafer Astaneh, Ardeshir Salehpur and Maryam Mo’taref.

 

Selimova staged the Turkish musical drama “Mashdi Ibad” written by Olmasin Bu Olsun at the Vahdat Hall on January 22 and 23.

 

Mordeniz staged “Gilgamesh”, a solo-performance that relies on songs and rhythmic recitations based on the ancient Mesopotamian epic, at the Sangelaj Hall on January 22.
