Police: Mir-Hossein’s nephew shot dead outside clash scenes

TEHRAN, Dec. 29 (MNA) – The police issued a statement on Tuesday announcing that Ali Mousavi, the nephew of former presidential candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi, was killed on Sunday by a gunshot fired by an unidentified person driving in a car far from the scenes of the riots.

The statement said Ali Mousavi was targeted while walking down Shademan Ave. 

 

The riots mostly happened on Engelab Street.

 

The statement said Ali Mousavi bled to death on the way to the hospital. It stated that an investigation is underway to indentify and apprehend the person or persons behind the killing.

 

The police also elaborated on other deaths on Sunday. It said two persons whose identities are clear were killed while attacking police with solid objects. These two persons died in the hospital, it added.

 

Another person with a clear identity fell off a bridge and two other persons, one with a clear identity and another with an unclear identity, were killed in crash with a car in the clash scene, the statement explained. It said investigations about these incidents are underway.

 

It also said a person whose identity is not clear was killed by knife.

 

Police also added a person was found dead by policemen near the unrest scene whose death had nothing to do with the clashes.
