In the second match the Egyptian duo of Ahmed Salah and the setter Abdalla Abdelsalam were the stars,AVC wrote.

Egypt led all the way in the first set to win 25-18. But Iran took advantage of frequent service mistakes made by the host team at the beginning of the second set to stay near until Egypt used their centers Abdelatif Othman and Rashad El Desoky to come ahead 8-6. Then Egypt gave no more chances to their rivals. Egypt deployed their impermeable block against the Iranian attacks from all the net positions to continue leading till they won the set 25-17.

Egypt head coach Antonio Jacobi made some substitutions in the third set to give a chance to some bench players, but it still stayed the better side and led all through to win the set 25-23 and the match 3-0.
