The second Islamic Solidarity Games is originally scheduled for October 16 to 30 in three Iranian cities, but the country’s officials say there is a possibility that the event will held in another time.
“Iran’s health ministry officials have to make the final decision. They will inform us by the end of the week whether the competitions will be held at the regular time or not,” he added.
“The chance of holding the competitions is 50-50. However, we reserve the legal right to host the event,” Mirza Aghabeik stated.
The Islamic Solidarity Games is a means of encouraging cooperation among Muslim states. The first edition was held in Saudi Arabia in 2005.
