He said that nine years ago, not many thought this house would be able to continue its activities with over 8,000 members as a professional center.

He asked all the members of the house to respect each other and show deep appreciation to the veteran masters of music.

He also pointed to the changes in the 9th celebration and stated, “After the statement was released for the celebration, only 44 works were submitted to the secretariat. So we decided to hand the honorary plaque of the House to the prominent masters. Musicians Mohammadreza Shajarian, Farhad Fakhreddini and Kamkars group gave benefit concerts for the house.”

Later on, master of classical music Hushang Ostovar and musician Faramarz Payvar were honored at the ceremony, but neither of them was able to take part in the ceremony due to their unstable health condition.

Tar virtuoso Jalil Shahnaz and master of ney Hassan Kassaii were also honored in absence at the ceremony.

Afterwards, Shajarian talked about his two recent musical instruments named “Sorahi” and “Bamsaz”. A sorahi is a treble instrument from the family of bowed string instruments and sounds similar to a violin, and Bamsaz is a kind of santur in which all the strings produce the bass sound, being actually a bass santur.

The ceremony ended with a presentation of the house plaque by Shajarian to Hushang Kamkar for his many years of working with his family members in the Kamkars ensemble.
