Iran, Bahrain sign MOU

TEHRAN, Dec. 26 (MNA) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki and his Bahraini counterpart Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa signed a memorandum of understanding at the first Iran-Bahrain Joint High Committee meeting.

The first Iran-Bahrain Joint High Committee meeting was officially opened in Manama.

 

In the memorandum of understanding the two countries agreed to cooperate in the areas of economy, business, technology, energy, industry, shipping, tourism, health, environment, and agriculture.

 

In a meeting with Bahrain’s Crown Prince Shaikh Salman Bin Hamad al-Khalifa, Mottaki stated that the two countries’ officials are interested in developing the joint gas project which needs serious steps for realizing it.

 

The foreign minister stressed the need for establishing relations which would serve the interests of the private sector of the two countries.

 

Shaikh al-Khalifa stated that Manama is prepared to take the necessary steps for improving ties with Tehran within the framework of the High Joint Committee.
