Armenia to hold Rumi congress

TEHRAN, Nov. 2 (MNA) -- Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science is to hold a congress on Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi entitled “Rumi, the Shining Star of Spiritual Poets” at the venue of Armenia’s National Academy of Sciences in collaboration with Iran’s cultural attaché’s office in Yerevan on November 5.

Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan and several Iranian university professors will be delivering lectures during the event.



Arabic and English book fair to be held in Qom


TEHRAN -- An Arabic and English humanities book fair is to be held in Qom from November 3 to 8 at the venue of the Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Center.


A cooperative effort of the Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Center and Vijeh-Nashr Publications, the book fair will include recently published works on various themes such as history, psychology, management and politics. They will be on sale at a discount.



Gigantic Iranian painting to be displayed in Morocco


TEHRAN -- A 40-meter painting by Sohrab Hadi, scheduled to be completed by late November, will be showcased for sale in an exhibit in Morocco in early 2008.


Entitled “Eternal, Primordial, Not Eternal, Not Primordial”, the painting comprises five sections and each section itself is made up of five canvases.


If the artwork is not sold in Morocco, the painting will be brought back to Iran, he told Mehr News Agency.



ABU to make film on Asian water crisis


TEHRAN -- A documentary on the theme “Water Crisis in Asia” is to be produced by late November by six members of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).


Countries including Nepal, Japan, China and Vietnam will be collaborating on the film’s production. The project was planned during the 44th ABU General Assembly which is taking place in Tehran from October 29 to November 4.


ABU is a professional association of broadcasting organizations, formed in 1964 to facilitate the development of broadcasting in the Asia-Pacific region. It currently has over 170 members in 53 countries and an audience of about 3 billion.
