“If they want to see the Russian side as a mediator in resolving the situation around Iran, Moscow is ready for this,” according to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to journalist Alexander Yunashev on April 1st.
"If everyone wants, we will be ready," Yunashev quotes the minister as saying on his Telegram channel, according to Russian media.
Lavrov and Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi discussed the crisis situation around Iran yesterday. Lavrov also expressed Russia's willingness to help find compromise solutions.
On March 19, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Moscow was seriously concerned about the ongoing armed confrontation in the Persian Gulf region, as well as the risks to the escalation scenario. According to the ministry, Russia, together with China, Turkey and other like-minded countries, is ready to help resolve the conflict.
