Conservative MPs meet president

TEHRAN, July 21 (MNA) -- About 80 conservative lawmakers were to hold talks with President Mahmud Ahmadinejad late Saturday.

Issues such as house inflation and gasoline rationing and related issues were going to be raised at the meeting.

The meeting is aimed to improve the level of cooperation between the Majlis and the cabinet and also to harmonize the activities of the conservative parliamentarians and the administration, MP Javad Arian-Manesh told the Mehr News Agency on Friday.

The meeting followed a suggestion by the Supreme Leader to strengthen the Ahmadinejad administration, Arian-Manesh said.

The cabinet and Majlis are set to hold an official meeting in which both Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel and President Ahmadinejad will participate, he added.
