Sheibani will replace Mojtaba Amani, who has served as Iran's ambassador to Lebanon since 2022. The new envoy has represented Iran in Lebanon (during 33-day war between Hezbollah and Israeli regime) and also as former ambassador to Syria and Libya.
Former Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kan'ani has also been appointed new Iran's ambassador to Algeria.
