Yemeni drone triggers sirens in south of occupied territories

TEHRAN, Oct. 05 (MNA) – The Israeli military said on Sunday that its air force shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) launched from Yemen in the southern Eilat area.

The army said in a short statement that air raid sirens were activated due to concerns over falling drone fragments.

The Zionist regime also said it shot down a missile, Al Jazeera reported.

The Yemeni group has repeatedly targeted Eilat as part of its campaign against Israel’s war on Gaza.

Last month, a Yemeni drone hit a resort city, wounding more than 20 settlers, the report added.

Earlier on Sunday, Spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced that the country's missile unit struck important targets in the occupied territories with the Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile.

According to Saree, the operation was conducted successfully and caused millions of Zionists to flee to shelters, he noted.
