The Petroiran Development Company (PEDCO) is currently carrying out a plan to extract gas from Dalan reserve at the Salman Field. “Production of gas will be started within coming months once the said plan is finished,” Gholam-Ali Aslani elaborated.
The Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported director with the IOOC for activities at the Lavan operation area as saying that nearly 100 to 500 million cubic feet of gas will be transferred from Salman Field to the
“Then, it would be exported to the United Arab Emirates,” he added, elaborating, “If Iran and the UAE do not agree on gas transfer, the said amount of gas will be conveyed to Assaluyeh.”
On the gas transfer from Salman to Sirri, he explained that the gas is conveyed via a 30-inch pipeline at 140 km. Subsequently, it is transferred to Mobarak Platform through a pipeline at 80 km.
Aslani continued that the IOOC attaches much more importance to the development of the Salman Field, “since it is shared with the neighboring state UAE.”
He added that the maximum crude production from the field stands at 68,000 to 70,000 barrels per day.
With the completion of the plan to increase crude extraction from the field, the gas production will be boosted as well after wells are drilled and platforms are installed, the director noted.
Meanwhile a report released by the Petroiran says that the second platform for the Salman development project has been recently loaded in order to be installed at the field.
The riser platform dubbed ‘PP3’ weighs 900 tons and is 20 meters in height, and it is to be used for oil work at the Salman Field.
According to Petroiran report, the installation of the equipment will be started soon by the use of lifting method.
The first platform for the Salman development project has been installed in late January. Dubbed 2SKC, the drilling platform weighs 1000 tons.
Petroiran says that the two mentioned platforms along with two more platforms that will be installed in future have been domestically manufactured by the Offshore Industrial Company (SAFF).
