Bagheri Kani made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
During the phone conversation, the two Iranian and Turkish top diplomats discussed a range of regional issues including the brutal Israeli war in the besieged Gaza Strip, as well as the bilateral relations between Tehran and Ankara.
Hailing the Turkish government and nation over sympathizing with Iran over the tragic passing away of the country's president and foreign minister, Bagheri Kani thanked Fidan for attending the farewell ceremony of the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
Referring to the upcoming meeting of foreign ministers of eight developing Islamic countries in Istanbul, he expressed hope that consultations between Iran and Turkey on issues of mutual interest would be held on the sidelines of this meeting.
Touching upon the Israeli regime's genocidal war on Gaza, the top Iranian diplomat stressed that the cooperation of Islamic countries would create an important and effective capacity to support the oppressed people of Gaza.
"Islamic countries should not spare any opportunity and capacity to support the Palestinian people," he emphasized.
Fidan, for his part, said that the proposal of the Islamic Republic of Iran to hold an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is very valuable.
The Zionist regime has besieged Gaza with the aim of destroying the Palestinian people, and all capacities must be used to prevent the continuation of the crime against humanity and the Zionist genocide, he added.
