US-British aggression on Yemen leaves 2 killed, 20 injured

TEHRAN, May 31 (MNA) – Yemeni media sources reported Thursday that 2 killed and 10 wounded in US-British attack on the radio building in Al-Hawak district.

Warplanes of the United States and Britain launched six airstrikes on the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Thursday night, al-Masirah TV reported.

The source said three airstrikes hit the mountain of al-Nahdayn in the center of the city, one airstrike struck near Sanaa airport in the northern part of the city, and two additional strikes hit the area of Jarban in the district of Sanhan, located in the far southern part of Sanaa.

The US-British coalition warplanes also conducted several airstrikes on the Houthi-held Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, according to the television.

Residents in Sanaa and Hodeidah told Xinhua they heard sound of fighter jets hovering overhead tonight and then powerful explosions in several Ansarullah-controlled military positions.

The Yemeni Ansarullah began last November to launch anti-ship ballistic missiles and drones targeting what they said were Israeli-linked ships transiting the Red Sea, to show solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

In response, the US-British naval coalition stationed in the waters has since January conducted regular air raids and missile strikes against Yemen targets to deter the Ansarullah resistance movement.
