Turkey neutralizes 5 PKK/YPG forces in northern Iraq, Syria

TEHRAN, May 13 (MNA) – Turkish security forces neutralized five PKK/YPG forces in northern Iraq and northern Syria, the National Defense Ministry said.

Three PKK terrorists detected in the Gara region in northern Iraq were neutralized with an airstrike, the statement said.

Another two PKK/YPG terrorists in northern Syria were also neutralized by the Turkish Armed Forces, Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkish authorities use the term “neutralize” to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.

Under the pretext of fighting PKK terrorists, Turkey has deployed its troops in areas of northern Iraq and Syria and is conducting aerial attacks on parts of the northern areas of these countries.

Ankara has received widespread criticism from both Iraqi and Kurdish authorities in Baghdad and Erbil as well as the international community for violating Iraqi sovereignty under the pretext of fighting the PKK.
