Possibility of stopping war in Gaza increased: FM

TEHRAN, May 05 (MNA) – The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that considering consultations, efforts, public opinion pressures, and the new conditions of the Zionist regime, the possibility of stopping the war in Gaza has increased.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the OIC summit in Gambia, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian pointed out that the possibility of stopping the war in Gaza has increased slightly compared to the past.

He expressed hope that the rights of the Palestinian people would be taken into consideration and conditions would be provided for the cessation of the crimes and genocide of the Zionist regime in Gaza.

He also expressed hope that the conditions in Gaza will be properly provided for sending humanitarian aid and transferring the residents of Gaza back to their homes.

The top Iranian diplomat said during the OIC summit on Saturday, support for the initiative of South Africa and the decision of the International Court of Justice to charge the leaders of the Zionist regime were also taken into consideration.

Referring to his bilateral consultations on the sidelines of this meeting, he clarified that following up on the meetings of the heads of the states and the results of their agreements in the past months were discussed during meetings with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Indonesia, and Egypt.

He added that regional issues, focusing on Gaza and the need to stop the war were also discussed.

He clarified that agreements that help to get out of this situation in the region with a collective and coordinated move were discussed.

Amir-Abdollahian said that he consulted with other foreign ministers about bilateral issues and regional and international affairs.
