Israeli troops detain 5 Palestinians in occupied West Bank

TEHRAN, May 04 (MNA) – Israeli forces have detained five people in the village of Sebastia, located to the northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, local sources reported on Saturday morning.

The mayor of Sebastia, Mohammad Azem, said that Israeli troops stormed the village at dawn and raided several homes.

Those detained were beaten before they were taken into custody, Al Jazeera quoted him as saying.

Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank have intensified since the war on Gaza started on October 7. More than 7,000 Palestinians have been detained or arrested in the territory since then.

Israel waged a genocidal war on the besieged Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance group carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

At least 34,596 Palestinians have been killed and 77,816 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.

Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
