The first International Park Forum was held in Moscow's exhibition centre “Expocentre”. Specialists from China, Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, India, Iran and other countries became guests of the event, which was held with the informational support of TV BRICS.
At the plenary sessions and panel discussions, representatives of executive authorities, businesses, park directors, architects and urbanists discussed methods to make BRICS cities more comfortable and environmentally friendly. They also considered joint projects that have already been created, such as the Huaming Park in Moscow.
"I managed to visit Zaryadye. Words cannot describe how much I liked everything there. Great design, but the main thing that shocked me was how great the architects managed to integrate different natural zones into the urban massif," said Brazilian architect and urbanist Pedro Lira.
"I think Egypt can learn a lot from Moscow. The country is currently experiencing a construction boom, new large-scale development projects, and it is necessary to pay very serious attention to ecology and green space, as they try to do in the Russian capital," said Ali Alraouf, an Egyptian international expert in the field of sustainable development and urban planning.
Over the two days, the forum participants not only discussed topical issues of the industry, but also started working on new international projects. Plans for the development of Russian regions include the reconstruction of the embankment of Kazan's Kaban lake, where ultra-modern and environmentally friendly housing will be built on the foundations of a pre-revolutionary factory.
