UKMTO reports of new security incident for ship in Red Sea

TEHRAN, Mar. 15 (MNA) – United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said in a statement on Friday that it has received a new report of an incident for a ship in the Red Sea 50 NM southeast of Al Hudaydah, Yemen.

United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said that two missiles were flying over the vessel and heard two loud explosions in the distance.

The report further said that there was no damage and the crew were reported to be safe and the vessel was reported to be proceeding towards it next port of call.

emenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian resistance movements carried out the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have said they won’t stop retaliatory strikes.

The maritime attacks have forced some of the world’s biggest shipping and oil companies to suspend transit through one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.

Tankers are instead adding thousands of miles to international shipping routes by sailing around the continent of Africa rather than going through the Suez Canal.
