TEHRAN, Jan. 29 (MNA) – The local media in Syria reported that the Syrian army's air defense repelled an airstrikes over Damascus on Monday.

Al-Jazeera citing Syrian sources reported that the Syrian air defense countered the attack of the Zionist regime on the suburb of Damascus on Monday.

Some other sources reported that explosions were heard in the suburbs of Zainabiyah district in the south of Damascus.

Later, it was reported that 2 people were martyred and several others were injured in the Zionist regime's airstrike on Zainabiyah, Damascus.

Meanwhile, Sputnik reported that according to preliminary information, rockets were fired from the occupied Golan Heights towards some areas in the suburbs of Zainabiyah in the south of Damascus.

Syrian media announced that the Zionist attack on a farm near Zainabiyah district in Damascus was carried out with three missiles.

Later, it was reported that the Iranian ambassador to Syria said "In today's attack of the Zionist regime fighter jets on Damascus, no Iranian advisory center in Syria was targeted.

"None of the Iranian nationals or military advisers have been martyred," he added.
