Iran to spare no effort to restore Turkey-Syria relations

TEHRAN, Jan. 24 (MNA) – Ali Asghar Khaji, the Iranian foreign minister's senior advisor for special political affairs said Wednesday that Iran will spare no efforts to assist in restoring relations between Syria and Turkey.

Khaji made the remarks in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan at the head of an Iranian delegation on Wednesday and in a meeting with Turkish deputy foreign minister Ahmet Yıldız. In the meeting, they discussed regional issues and the ongoing killing of the people of Gaza as well as the continuation of the Astana Process.

Criticizing the US support for the war crimes and genocide of the Zionist regime in Gaza, Khaji emphasized that the Americans are the ones who have to be held to account for the killing of the people of Gaza and the continuation of the massacre.

Referring to the good and friendly relations between Iran and Turkey, the senior adviser to the Iranian foreign minister stressed that "the role of Iran and Turkey in establishing stability in the region is very important, and respecting the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria is one of the shared goals for both Iran and Turkey,"

"Iran will spare no efforts to restore relations between the two Muslim and neighboring countries, Turkey and Syria."
