1.7 million Palestinians displaced in north, central Gaza: UN

TEHRAN, Jan. 02 (MNA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) has disclosed that over 1.7 million Palestinians have been displaced from the northern and central areas of the Gaza Strip.

As the Israeli regime has intensified its bombings of northern and central Gaza, Palestinians have taken refuge in already overcrowded shelters and public facilities in the south.

The UN agency said that at least 300 displaced Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes on its facilities.

International humanitarian organizations have issued warnings about the spread of infectious diseases in overcrowded camps.

At least 22,185 people have been killed and 57,035 other wounded since the Israeli regime launched the devastating war on Gaza on October 7,  the Gaza Ministry of Health said.
