Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the comments on Monday night in a phone conversation with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi as they discussed the ongoing Gaza war and the Israeli regime’s crimes against Palestinians in the besieged enclave.
Despite efforts at the regional and international levels to prevent the continuation and spillover of the war, the Israeli regime is pursuing its aggressive goals in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, Amir-Abdollahian said.
The top Iranian diplomat referred to international concerns over the security of the Red Sea, saying that the Islamic Republic makes efforts to prevent the war from spilling over and to help ensure navigation security in the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf, and the Indian Ocean. However, the Iranian foreign minister added that an end to the Gaza war guarantees security in West Asia.
The Jordanian foreign minister, for his part, said that crimes against Gazans and their forced displacement should be stopped, while dispatch of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian territory must be facilitated.
He blamed the continued Israeli attacks for the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
