Gaza truce takes effect after 7 weeks of fighting

TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (MNA) – Four-day Gaza truce agreed by the Palestinian Hamas movement and the Zionist Israeli regime started on Friday 7 am after seven weeks of war.

After prolonged negotiations and a delay of at least 24 hours, a four-day truce between Israel and Hamas has begun, with Zionist prisoners held in Gaza to be released in exchange for Palestinian women and children detained in Israeli regime prisons, Al Jazeera reported.

The temporary ceasfire started at 7am (05:00 GMT) in the Palestinian territories.

More than 14,800 people have been killed in Gaza since October 7.

Israel waged the war on Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out a surprise attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, into the occupied territories in response to the occupying regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian death toll from Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has soared to 14,854, the government media office in the blockaded enclave said Thursday.
