Wang Yi emphasized that all parties in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should put aside geopolitical considerations and promote international reconciliation for lasting peace, and stated that they support the legitimate demands of Arab and Islamic countries on the Palestinian issue, Turkiye News Paper reports.
According to the statement made by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Minister Wang exchanged ideas on the ongoing conflict between the Israeli regime and Palestine in a telephone conversation with Malaysian Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir. Stating that China is against all kinds of attacks that harm innocent civilians and violate international law.
"In the Palestinian issue, we always stand by peace, international law, and the legitimate demands of Arab and Islamic countries," Wang noted.
Wang emphasized that he supported the joint statement of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) on the situation in the Gaza Strip.
"When it comes to war and peace, all parties should put aside geopolitical considerations, adhere to conscience, and prevent greater humanitarian disasters by achieving an international consensus that will end the war as soon as possible," Wang emphasized.
