Iran has energy transaction with all neighbors

TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (MNA) – Deputy energy minister in electricity affairs, Mohammad Ahmadian said here on Friday that Iran has electricity transaction with all neighboring countries.

He also added that presently Iran exports some 150 megawatt electricity to Iraq, less than 100 megawatts to Pakistan and 10 megawatts to Afghanistan.

Ahmadian said that Iran also imports some 200 megawatt electricity from Pakistan and has seasonal electricity exchanges with Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“Diversifying Iran’s primary energy resources is part of the administration policies for increasing the security for providing the required electricity,” he said, adding that “producing electricity from coals, nuclear substances or even solar and air energies are top on the Energy Ministry’s agenda.”

He continued, “The Iranian consultants and contractors are working in all of the electricity transmission and distribution networks. Also in the production sector, these are the Iranian companies, who are also managing the construction of power plants. That is to say, just a little portion of the raw material is imported from foreign countries.”
