Iran to increase saffron exports to Japan

TEHRAN, Sept. 9 (MNA) – Based on a three-year timetable, Iran is planning to increase its saffron exports to Japan.

Iran’s annual saffron exports to Japan stands at less than one ton, however, based on a three-year planning the figure is expected to be increased to 20 tons per year, noted here on Saturday, chairman of Iran’s Saffron Exports Development Fund.

 

Ali Shariati-Moqaddam also commented that some 98 percent of Iran’s saffron exports to Japan is in bulk and only two percent of the delivery is in packages.

 

He further commented on the holding of a specialized seminar on Iran’s saffron on October 5-6 in Japan and said that Iran’s Saffron Exports Development Fund in collaboration with Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) would sponsor the meeting.
