Current year’s target tax revenues will be fully reached

TEHRAN, Aug. 2 (MNA) – The current year’s target tax revenues are expected to be fully reached, noted on Wednesday an official with the State Tax Organization.

Tax revenues collected in the first three months of the current year (Iranian year started March 21) hit Rls.32,029 billion, said Mahmud Shokri adding, however, the target figure envisaged in the budget bill for the period is at Rls.44,404 billion.

 

Increased by 40 percent, the state tax revenues grew from the Rls.22,795 billion in the first three months of past year to Rls.32,029 billion during the same period this year, he added.

 

He also explained that direct taxes earned from the state-run companies in particular, National Iranian Oil Company, the non-governmental firms as well as other sources such as the income taxes accounted for Rls.19,909 billion of the figure.

 

He also pointed to the bill on Value Added Tax (VAT) currently being discussed at the Economy Commission of the Majlis (parliament) and said that even after final approval, a period of between one and two years has been envisioned for the full enforcement of the bill.
