Italy to host painting exhibition of Iranian female artists

TEHRAN, May 31 (MNA) – A one-month exhibition of paintings of Iranian contemporary female artists is to be held in Italy.

Works by Sharareh Salehi, Jila Kamyab, Susan Nasr, Iran Jahanshahi, Sudabeh Mir-Fasih, Farah Seyyed Abolqassem, and Soheila Vadudi will be put on display on June 3 for two weeks at the city hall museum in Veroli and for two more weeks at the Umberto Mastroianni Foundation.

 

The exhibit is being cosponsored by the Umberto Mastroianni Foundation, Iran’s Cultural Office in Rome, and the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.

 

Italian sculptor Umberto Mastroianni was born on Sept. 21, 1910 in Fontana Liri, Frasinone, Italy and died Feb. 25, 1998 in Marino, Italy. He was celebrated especially for his large-scale abstract bronzes, notably a series of war monuments.
