Iran Khodro registers “Samand” in WIPO

The move will help safeguard the legal rights of Samand, and prevent the possible industrial copying of the brand all over the world, a report by the company said here on Wednesday.

Last year, giving priority to the development of export of the car and accelerating the measures aimed at the production of a native engine dubbed the “National Engine” planned to be installed on the Iranian-designed and Iranian-made passenger car Samand, was on the agenda of Iran’s major auto manufacturing plant, IKCO, noted an official with the car producer company.

Following the opening of Samand production assembly lines in the republics of Azerbaijan and Belarus as well as Syria, a new chapter has begun in the history of the international activities of the IKCO, the report also stated.
